This is a borrowed internet connection, we won't have our own for several days, nor is the house telephone working. The bats, rats, termites, three foot lizards etc., didn't do too much damage in the four months we were gone but the army ants made a nest under the house about twenty feet long and part of the sand they displaced was piled up on the floor in the bedroom. We are dealing with them.
Thanks to the folks at Maranatha Village for their help, especially Dave and Grace Kintner, Dave did most of the work as we put the 1987 Ford in storage, up on blocks at the village.
Right now we are at seminary getting ready for an area-wide youth rally here tomorrow hosted by the New Philadelphia Baptist church, which was started by Stan and Pat Best years ago and organized by Ron and Nancy Warner.
We have about half of the $10,000 we need to by a new Volkswagen bus, the difference between what we can sell the old one for and the price of a new one. Some have asked about this. 2013 will be the last year for this model, same body as the ones sold in the mid-sixties in the states.
Our church is reportedly doing well, we haven't been over there yet. Need to go downtown to the P.O. and the clinic where I want to have some xrays taken, I fell down about two weeks ago and might have a broken rib or two, still hurts but not as much. Too complicated to have it treated while on the road in the states. By the way, we drove over 16,000 miles in the old Ford during the past four months plus over a thousand miles in rental cars. What a great time we had, what a blessing, great experiences. Great to see old friends and make some new ones.
Thanks, Rick and Gayle
